It is said that “The Evil Eye”, dating back to the 6th century Greece, first found on drinking vessels, protects and empowers the wearer or the house owner from (mati) the evil eye is directing negative energy, spirits or bad luck away. It should be placed facing the main entrance of your home directing the negativity out of your door.

This piece was first applied with white Terra Sigillata, a primitive glaze type material used to seal the clay and bisque fired at 920 degrees. Then it was finished in Pit Fire where the colouring occurs randomly by the black smoke absorbed through the slow burning smokey fire.
